Where we are

The campus of the Max Planck Institutes with the Friedrich-Miescher-Laboratory, the MPI for Developmental Biology, and the MPI for Biological Cybernetics is located in the north of Tuebingen near the observatory (Sternwarte). Tuebingen is located south of Stuttgart, approx. 40 minutes by car or 1 hour by train from Stuttgart main station. The closest airport is Stuttgart (STR).

Arriving by train:

Leave the central station and either take a taxi in front of the station or walk 1 minute to the central bus station (Europaplatz). Take bus lines 3 or 4 in the direction of 'Ulmenweg' or bus line 17 in the direction of 'Schnarrenbergklinik'. Get off at stop 'Ochsenweide' for bus line 17, at stop 'Auf dem Kreuz' for bus line 3, or at stop 'Corrensstrasse Tropenklinik' for bus line 4. From the bus stop it is a 5 - 10 min walk to the campus. Buses operate on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm every 20 minutes. From 8 pm to 11 pm buses operate every 30 minutes. On Saturday and Sunday buses run every 30 minutes

Arriving by plane:

From Stuttgart Airport, a taxi to the campus will take 40 minutes. Alternatively, take the "Airportsprinter" shuttle bus (no. 828) to Tuebingen main station, or the local railway (S-Bahn, no. S2/S3) to Stuttgart Central Station (Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof) and continue by train to Tuebingen main station (Tuebingen Hauptbahnhof). At the airport, the local railway station and the bus stop are located on the ground floor of the airport terminal.
